Websites for VFW Posts, American Legion Posts, and Veterans Organizations

A veteran who just moved to town, a family planning a funeral with honors, and someone looking to rent the hall should all be able to find your post in a minute. We build straightforward websites for VFW posts, American Legion posts, auxiliaries, and other veterans groups in Wyoming. Your post commander or adjutant can keep them current without learning anything new.

What veterans posts need from a website

Most posts don't need anything fancy. They need the basics to be right and easy to find:

  • Meeting night, time, and location, plus who to contact, right on the home page
  • "Join or transfer to our post" page with eligibility basics and a link to your national organization's official membership page
  • Events calendar: Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Flag Day, fish fries, bingo, and fundraisers
  • Honor guard and funeral honors request with a simple contact form and phone number
  • Hall rental info with photos, capacity, and a request form
  • Programs and scholarships: youth programs, essay contests, Boys State and Girls State (where your post takes part), and how to apply
  • Donations to post programs, sent to a secure page that works on phones
  • Post news and photos so members who can't make meetings stay connected
  • Large, readable text and simple navigation for members of every age

What we build

  • A clear home page: who you are, when you meet, how to join, and how to reach someone
  • An events calendar members can update from a short form
  • Honor guard, hall rental, and general contact forms, each sent to the right person
  • A "Join our post" page that explains the basics and links to your national organization's official sign-up
  • Program and scholarship pages with deadlines that are easy to change each year
  • A photo gallery for ceremonies and community events (with permission from the people pictured)
  • A secure donate link for post programs, connected to the account your post already uses
  • A Google Business Profile for your hall, with hours and photos, so "VFW near me" or "American Legion Riverton" shows the right address
  • Large text, strong contrast, and accessible forms throughout

We use only the emblems and names your post is allowed to use under its national organization's rules, and only official files you provide. We don't redraw or alter emblems.

Easy to update after handoff

Post officers rotate, they are volunteers, and not everyone wants to learn new software. We build with that in mind:

  • Big-button editing: add an event or change the meeting night in a couple of minutes
  • A printed, large-type how-to guide for the most common updates, plus a short video
  • More than one login, so the site doesn't depend on one person
  • Owned by the post: domain and hosting in the post's name, with renewal dates written down
  • A handoff checklist at each officer election
  • We're a phone call away if you'd rather have us make the change

Proof

Proof from our public portfolio

We haven't published a veterans organization site yet, so we won't claim one. Our public results come from local Wyoming business websites built the same way: clear, readable, and easy to act on.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Our national organization already lists our post. Why do we need our own site?

National post locators usually show an address and maybe a contact. Your own site can show meeting nights, upcoming events, hall rental details, honor guard requests, and photos. It's also what people find when they search your town and post name on Google.

Can you use the VFW or American Legion emblem on our site?

We use only the official artwork your post provides and is allowed to use under your national organization's rules. We don't redraw or modify emblems. If you aren't sure what's allowed, check with your department or national headquarters first.

Are you affiliated with the VFW or The American Legion?

No. Wildfire Digital Marketing is an independent Riverton business. We build websites for local posts, and your post keeps full ownership of its site.

Our officers aren't tech people. Can they keep it updated?

Yes. That's how we design it. Common updates take a short form and a couple of minutes. We leave a printed, large-type guide, and you can always call us.

Can families request honor guard support through the website?

Yes. We add a simple request form and a phone number, sent to whoever handles honor guard scheduling. A phone number stays on the page because many families would rather call.

Can we take donations or hall rental requests online?

Yes. Donations go to a secure page connected to your post's existing account, and hall rental requests go to the person who manages the hall. We test both on phones before launch.
